Event Handicap System
Starting in 2015, the previous "Event Handicap" system was changed, and all non-tournament Thursday scores are entered as HOME scores. (In 2014 Thursday scores were entered as "T"/tournament scores, but a problem developed since MGA/USGA does not recognize 9 hole T scores.) The handicap committee will review scores after each Men's Club event to make sure that the handicap system is working and results in a fair scoring system for the club.
The following were enacted starting in 2015:
1 - CONTINUED for 2015 - All Event scores will be posted by the handicap chairperson. This includes all Thursday, Event, and Tournament scores. Members will not be posting Thursday scores. All Thursday cards will be turned in and recorded by the handicap chairperson.
2 - CHANGED FOR 2015 - All Men’s Club members Thursday scores will be considered HOME scores (H-scores). All Thursday play, whether you play in the shop game or not, will be posted by the handicap chair as HOME (H) score if you play on Thursday at Green Haven.
3 - CONTINUED FOR 2015 - All Events and Tournaments will be posted, by the handicap chair, as a TOURNAMENT (T-scores) score.
4 - CONTINUED FOR 2015 - The handicap committee will review all scores and follow the MGA/USGA index reduction (see link below), when applicable.
4 - CONTINUED FOR 2015 - ALL THURSDAY SCORECARDS MUST HAVE THE PLAYERS FIRST AND LAST NAME AND DATE. ALL CARDS WILL BE RETURNED TO THE PLAYERS FOR REVISION IF THOSE AREAS ARE NOT FILLED OUT CORRECTLY. Please, do not use nicknames or first names only when filling out the cards.
