MPGA Centennial Celebration Golf Event

In April 1923 representatives from Columbia, Phalen, and Glenwood golf courses met to form a golf association. The name Minnesota Public Golf Association was chosen.  Interclub matches were scheduled and played that first season. A State Championship of Public golf was played that year as well.  That first Championship was a match play event played at Glenwood Golf Course which was on the grounds of what is now known as Theodore Wirth Park. From its humble beginnings the MPGA has grown to represent over 80 golf clubs and 15,000 golfers from a wide geographic area that extends well beyond the metropolitan Minneapolis and St. Paul region.  We will be returning to the site of our first State Championship to celebrate our Centennial and would like you to be part of what is planned.

The Minnesota Public Golf Association will celebrate 100 years as an organization in 2023 with a special MPGA Centennial Celebration Golf Event.  We invite you, as a member of an MPGA club, to participate.
